Background: Last year, ANA, in partnership with Havant Housing Association and others, held an Open Day, as above. ANA showcased new facilities and programme enhancements and our successful partnership with Havant Housing Association.
The event comprises inputs from clients past and present, staff and our local Drug Action Team, The Safer Portsmouth Partnership and members of our Family and Carers Group, First Step. A page on our web site will also be dedicated to the event, in support of the Home Office / Unity Misuse & Addictions week.
ANA has a diverse staff team and a diverse client base with people from many different backgrounds and walks of life. The lunch time will reflect this with diverse foods from around the world, celebrating difference and community.

… is a residential 2nd-stage abstinence-based programme featuring mixed-gender treatment and single-gender accommodation, group therapy, 1:1 counselling, workshops, life skills, attendance at 12-step meetings, and learning & development work.
3rd-stage move-on accommodation is also available, with extensive relapse-prevention, aftercare and resettlement support.

DONCASTER DRUG STRATEGY UNIT

An open day at New Beginnings. This is the only facility of its kind in the UK, where structured day care, detox and supported accommodation reside in the same building. Subject to confirmation, the open day will take place on the 25th June 2007, from 11am to 3pm. There will be a lunch provided, along with complementary therapies and arts and crafts sessions. Information will be available from other agencies in Doncaster.

"The day went really well. Clients enjoyed the game and there was a good sense of team morale - even though our clients lost 7-4 to Drug Intervention Programme clients!" he enthused.
"Sport and team work offer a real opportunity for clients to feel part of and belong to something, and get a natural high away from drugs. The Doncaster ground has only just been opeend and is one of the best, as the photo shows. The value which clients felt to be able to tread the turf was amazing."

Drug Advisory Service Haringey
Last year, the open day was at our drop-in service: 80 Stroud Green Road, N4 on Saturday, and we plan similar this year – to be confirmed - 10:00am - 3:00pm on 28 June.
As the key drug service in the borough, DASH provides a comprehensive range of interventions for Haringey residents. We work within a harm minimisation framework, but the services we offer, span the wider treatment continum - from needle exchange, to substitue prescribing. From assessment for rehab to aftercare support. Our drop-in service- the first point of contact for most clients- is now open on a Saturday.
Come along on Saturday 28th June to find out what we do and spend some time discussing our services with both service providers and service users. We hope that this day will be an opportunity for people to get to find out more about DASH in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Haringey Advisory Group on Alcohol (HAGA) is a Charity providing advice and services for people with alcohol and alcohol related problems in Haringey. Our services include:
Individual Counselling - offering people the chance to discuss their problem in a confidential setting with an experienced Counsellor.
Community Alcohol Team - offering assessment and detoxification from alcohol at home and in the community.
HAGA Day Centre - training in how to reduce your drinking also offering an alcohol-free 'Drop-In', group work, individual key-working, acupuncture and aromatherapy.
COSMIC - offers workshops and advice for children, parents, and other professionals around alcohol and substance misuse.
Kinesis - offers employment advice and training, helping people recovering from alcohol and drug problems to get back to work.
Project Newstart - supports 15 residents in 3 shared houses in their aim to remain alcohol and drug-free and be resettled into permanent accommodation.
Community Outreach Team - works with 'street' drinkers and other groups who experience difficulty in accessing mainstream health and related services.
DV - offers one-off confidential advice and information or give long term support around legal, housing and benefits issues.

The Ley Community runs an intensive residential programme from its site on the outskirts of Oxford based on a traditional therapeuticcommunity model for up to 60 entrenched drug and/or alcohol misusers. Last year, we held an Open Day for visitors and hope to repeat this, subject to demand.
It would provide an opportunity for visitors to be shown around the Community by residents and meet with staff and residents to discuss the treatment programme. A number of ex-residents could also be available to talk about the resettlement phase when residents leave and take on full time employment in the Oxford area. A buffet lunch will be provided.
Last year, we ran a number of workshops/discussion groups ailable in the afternoon. It would be helpful if people wishing to attend could phone in advance so that we had some idea about the numbers to cater for.

Intuition Foundation is a new charity purchasing a 14-bedroom property. This would be great opportunity to see the property which the service will be delivered and receive information about the treatment provision. The intention is to offer a care pathway, drug treatment and resettlement programme for single women, pregnant women and mothers and babies who are in crisis.
The referral criteria is; single women, pregnant women, sex workers, ex-offenders, poly-users, probation referrals, women who have completed detox and need stabilisation and mother with child(ren) aged 0-5.
The programme is a 6-12mth rolling programme with an aftercare provision. See for yourself during an open day on Tuesday 24th June 2008 and Tuesday 1st July 2008. The information day commences at 12.00pm and ends at 3.00pm. (to be confirmed)
This day is an information day for frontline drug professionals who work with women, DAATs, CMTs, midwives, social services departments and NOMs.This day also welcomes professionals from the statutory and non-statutory agencies which work with female substance misusers and families.

Phoenix Futures To celebrate this important week a number of our residential rehabilitation centres plan to host – as they did in 2007 – Open Days to highlight their work and provide an insight into the treatment process and the journey clients undertake at Phoenix Futures. We are cordially inviting you to come and share this day with us as a valued supporter to Phoenix Futures. The day will be hosted by current and ex-service users, staff and senior management.
You and your colleagues will have the opportunity to talk, question and learn more about our work and the services our centres offer through a range of formal and informal information sessions. You will also have the opportunity to learn about many of Phoenix Futures unique values and strengths, such as our education and skills programme that help service users learn new skills to find employment, voluntary work and further education upon leaving our services; and our successful conservation therapy programme that provides an alternative environment outdoors for clients, building self-esteem, confidence, social and team building skills.
