CONCORDAT WATCHDOG LAUNCHES IN HOUSE OF COMMONS

To help implement the Drug Policy goal of getting more addicts into drug-free sustainable recovery -- and raise the number managing to get a referral to drug-free rehab from the current 2% to 10% of those 'in the system -- the Concordat Watchdog was launched in the House of Commons this October by Amber Rudd MP, supported by Lord Mancroft.

The 'Watchdog' will use all due diligence to establish good practice through effective communications with commissioners through a two-way process:  it will inform commissioners of expectations concerning the use of inpatient and residential rehab treatment, and of the benefits these services can offer them in relation to recovery outcomes.

In parallel, the Watchdog will provide a channel through which purchasers/ commissioners can raise their concerns about specific Concordat providers or about inpatient and residential rehab provision in general. These will equally be addressed.
