Addictions Services Northumberland
On June 27th Addictions Services Northumberland plans to open their harm reduction service/needle exchange and 2 other offices in Blyth and Ashington where they provide an integrated package of care for Class A users. Although this will be an opportunity to strengthen links with agencies working in the same area, we seek to establish positive links with the business sector and the local strategic partnership.

ANA Treatment Centres Open Day

Title: "Treatment In The Real World"
Background: Last year, ANA, in partnership with Havant Housing Association and others, held an Open Day, as above. ANA showcased new facilities and programme enhancements and our successful partnership with Havant Housing Association.
The event comprises inputs from clients past and present, staff and our local Drug Action Team, The Safer Portsmouth Partnership and members of our Family and Carers Group, First Step. A page on our web site will also be dedicated to the event, in support of the Home Office / Unity Misuse & Addictions week.
ANA has a diverse staff team and a diverse client base with people from many different backgrounds and walks of life. The lunch time will reflect this with diverse foods from around the world, celebrating difference and community.

ARA (Addiction Recovery Agency)
… is a residential 2nd-stage abstinence-based programme featuring mixed-gender treatment and single-gender accommodation, group therapy, 1:1 counselling, workshops, life skills, attendance at 12-step meetings, and learning & development work.
3rd-stage move-on accommodation is also available, with extensive relapse-prevention, aftercare and resettlement support.

On Wednesday 25 June from 2pm, we will be holding a half-day Open Day on our premises. Our day will include information about our programme structure and the treatment we offer from the counsellors on our addiction-recovery programme. We are inviting previous clients who have attended our programme to offer you their first-hand experience of our treatment services.

We have eight directorates and our services are managed in five strategic business units or care groups, supported by a research and development unit, to help develop best practice and expertise. Every year, our 4,200 staff care for about 23,000 service users. We work in people’s homes, GP surgeries, community mental-health units and other community settings as well as hospital and community-based inpatient units. Most of our £160million annual funding comes from Primary Care Trusts, responsible for commissioning local health services and funded by the Department of Health.
