This shows how the NTA spent the £11million operating budget in the last financial year. This comes mainly as grant-in-aid from the Department of Health, but NTA income includes about £3million from other government departments for administering programmes on their behalf, eg the Home Office Drugs Intervention Programme.
The pooled treatment budget is allocated direct by the Department of Health, through the normal mechanism for distributing NHS funds. The NTA does not handle the money, but it does advise on how it should be spent.
