TACKLING DRUGS IN PRISON:

ACTION AFTER ARTICLE IN ISSUE 113

Following Addiction Today’s July article by Huseyin Djemil on drugs in prisons, hand-held mobile phone blockers and body orifice security scanners, such as used in high-security prisons, will be introduced to all prisons next year to stem the flow of illegal drugs.

These and other measures are listed in Disrupting the supply of illegal drugs into prisons, whose top 10 recommendations have been taken up by the Ministry for Justice.
